Discussions and screenings each week.
Oct. 9: Some Like it Hot (1959) Starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe. Lemmon and Curtis are Prohibition-era musicians, who flee the Mob when they witness the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Disguised as women, they join an all-female band and meet fellow band-member Monroe, with hilarious, gender-bending complications. One of the most celebrated comedies of all time. It was so risqué, and so popular, that it helped kill the Production Code. Billy Wilder directed.
