Library Creatives Drop-In: UV & Me

Drop in any time during the Photography in Translation closing reception -- no registration needed!  Join us for UV & Me, a hands-on workshop celebrating the closing of the Photography in Translation exhibition at the Civic Center Gallery. Explore the magic of cyanotype printing, a 19th-century photographic process that uses UV light to create striking blue-and-white images; no camera required!  

You'll create a one-of-a-kind indoor "sun print" to take home using UV-sensitive paper, found objects, and a UV flashlight. Whether you're an art lover, a science enthusiast, or just curious, this playful process reveals how light and shadow shape our world.  We'll also have take-home materials exploring the history of cyanotypes, guiding you through the Photography in Translation exhibition, and connecting the past and present of photographic art.
